How the service measures, what the numbers mean, and what they deliberately do not claim. Written as a manual: one question per page, the answer first.
Getting started
- Start here: your first ten minutesPierre opens your access with you during a call. Your catalogue and your sellers are declared together, then you read the Cockpit.
- How to use Settings: your sellers and your catalogueSettings is where you declare what only you know: who sells for you, and which products are yours. Every share in the app depends on these two declarations.
Your account & support
- How do I reach support, and how fast is the reply?Pierre takes up blocking incidents within one business day and other requests usually within two to five business days, Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00 Paris time, in English or French: Send feedback or contact@whoheld.com.
- What is in the Monthly Business Review?A slide deck for your internal meetings: an opening summary, then one section per country comparing the last 30 days with the 90 days before. Refreshed every Monday.
- What is Hyper Care? The products you choose to watch closely. Each one is re-read every 24 hours, and a morning report per country tells you what moved on them.
- Which e-mails can I receive, and how do I stop them?A daily digest by country or as a group summary, the Hyper Care morning report, and, in Lead and Lead+, a market letter on the 1st of each month. Each person chooses, and can stop at any time.
- How does the trial work?14 days from the day your access opens, until midnight Paris time on the last day. One written extension is possible. At the end, the access closes.
- Can I export my data?Several screens export to a file at any time. When your contract ends, a full export of your data is available on request, within 15 business days.
Method and trust
- What this service measures, and what it does notIt measures the public face of Amazon listings over time: who holds the Buy Box, prices, availability, content, reviews. It does not read your internal sales data.
- Why no connection to your Amazon account is neededThe service works entirely from public observation. No credentials, no API access to your seller or vendor account, nothing to install.
- Why these numbers differ from Vendor CentralThey measure different things from different places. Vendor Central reports your transactions; this service measures the market as it was observed, at each collection.
- How often is the data refreshed?Every 24 hours for products in Hyper Care and for 30 days after a Buy Box loss or suppression, at least every 28 days otherwise. The freshness badge shows the age of what you are reading: observation is sampled, never continuous.
Reading the metrics
- Glossary: abbreviations and termsGMV, Buy Box, 3P, RSP, OOS, share of demand and the other words you meet on screen, each in two or three lines.
- Buy Box share: hours held, not pointsThe share of time the Buy Box was held by you, your partners, or Amazon selling your products. Measured in hours over the window, so it never overstates you.
- Who holds the Buy Box, brand by brandFor every brand at the top of a shelf, yours and your competitors', how much of the time Amazon sold it directly, a third party sold it, or nobody could buy at all.
- Suppressed Buy Box: what it is and why it mattersAmazon sometimes shows no default seller at all. During that time, nobody wins the sale by default, and conversion usually drops sharply.
- Who counts as you, and who is a competitorYou are your accounts, Amazon selling your products, and your declared partners. A competitor is another brand. Everyone else is another third-party seller.
- Reading the Buy Box timelineThe timeline shows who held the Buy Box as continuous intervals: gains, losses, rotations, suppressions. It reads like a possession chart, not a price chart.
- Risk score: how to read itA 0 to 100 pressure gauge on each listing, built from measured signals only. Use it to rank listings against each other, not as a prediction.
- Estimated monthly GMV: what it is based onAn estimate of monthly sales value at the observed price, shown only when Amazon publishes a monthly sales counter for the listing. Directional by design.
Chapters
- Market: the top of each shelf, and who holds itThe products that lead each Amazon shelf you follow, ranked by Amazon, with who held their Buy Box, how they moved, and what shoppers say about each brand. No market share and no market value.
- Sales Velocity: rank-based, with no volume estimatesVelocity reads movement in sales rank to compare products and spot momentum. It deliberately publishes no unit or revenue estimates from rank.
- Content score: what goes into itA completeness measure of your listing content against your own category, so weak listings surface. It scores presence and depth, not writing style.
- Reviews: what a review-count reset isReview counters on Amazon sometimes drop or jump without warning, usually because Amazon regrouped listings. The service keeps only durable breaks.
- Promotions: what you ran, what your category ran, and what it producedThe Promotions chapter answers one question: did you discount as much as your category during a given window, and did it produce anything. It reads price, Buy Box holding and sales rank before, during and after, and it separates the operations Amazon announced from the promotional waves it never did.
- The Amazon price line: the number no vendor is givenFor most listings Amazon holds a price it treats as competitive, and compares your Buy Box price with it. It appears in no Vendor Central report. When your price sits above that line, the Buy Box can be suppressed. This chapter shows the line, where your price sits against it, and what it has cost you.
- How to read the CockpitThe Cockpit answers one question: what do I deal with first this week? It shows, country by country, who held your Buy Box, why you did not, and what Amazon decided across your catalogue.
- How to read TodayToday shows what changed since yesterday, market by market, grouped by what to do about it. It is the same content as the morning digest email, and each line can be followed as a case.
- How to read Hyper CareHyper Care is your own list of products under close watch, per market. It tells what happened on each one over its last 24 hours: changes of hands, losses, prices, offers.
- How to read RisksRisks is your work queue: the products where you are losing the Buy Box, sorted by the value in play over the last 30 days. Products where it started or got worse this week are marked Urgent.
- How to read the Hero packThe hero pack is the set of products you choose to have checked every hour on a market. The chapter shows the list and whether the promised number of observations was kept this month.
- How to read Out-Of-StockOut-Of-Stock shows when your vendor channel drops out: how often Amazon itself has no stock on your products, how long the Buy Box stays suppressed, and what the stock-outs put in play.
- How to read the ASIN detail pageThe ASIN detail page tells what happened on one listing: who held the Buy Box and when, each loss, the sales rank, reviews, offers and prices, content, and what Amazon decided about it.
- How to read SellersSellers answers: who is selling your products, and who is taking your Buy Box? It names the third-party sellers seen on your own products, what they took, and where they appear next.
- How to read New ASINsNew ASINs lists the recently listed products in the market you follow, with their launch date, price, availability and Buy Box holder. It covers the products we track, not the whole of Amazon.
- How to read Alerts, and choose your emailsAlerts answers: how am I told without logging in? It is where you choose your emails, per market, and where you check every signal detected and every email sent.
